About Vision Zero
Vision Zero is a street safety program which originally began in Sweden. Its goal is to reduce traffic deaths and serious injuries to zero. Following cities around the world, NYC instituted Vision Zero in 2014, improving street design and implementing and enforcing better laws that have saved many lives.
About the Youth Council
We are a student-led group that works with local schools, organizations, and elected officials in the fight for street safety. VZYC was created with support from NYC's Department of Transportation and
Transportation Alternatives, the city's foremost pedestrian activist organization.
Get Involved With VZYC
We are based in NYC, and have monthly meetings in lower manhattan, and will often have them in other locations around the city. These meetings are open for anyone to join, and if you want to be even more involved, sign up for updates.
